Coventry Funerals
Funeral celebrant in Coventry
If you're reading this because someone has died, I'm sorry. Take your time here, there's no rush.
I'm a non-religious funeral celebrant in Coventry. I write and lead services that sound like the person who has gone, not like a template with a name dropped into it. Crematorium, burial, woodland site, village hall, or a gathering weeks later when everyone can get there.
CoventryHow it works, step by step
Your funeral director will usually make the first introduction, though you're very welcome to contact me directly. I'll come to you, normally within a day or two, and we'll sit down together while you tell me about your person.
I write a draft of the full service and send it to you to read in your own time. You change anything you want changed. On the day I arrive early, hold the room, and carry the timings so your family doesn't have to think about any of it.
Religious, non-religious, or somewhere in between
Plenty of families want no religion at all. Others want one hymn because their mum would have wanted it, or a quiet moment for those who wish to pray. Both are fine. Nothing gets included that wasn't theirs, and nothing gets left out because it doesn't fit a format.
Music can be anything. I've had brass bands, AC/DC, sea shanties and a recording of someone's own voice.
Laughter is allowed
Funerals can hold both things. A room howling at a story about a reversed caravan and a duck pond, then silent two minutes later for a grandchild's reading. That isn't disrespectful. That's grief done honestly, and it's usually what the person would have wanted.
